Bonding with the girls...

Here's a quick update to what I ate last night:

Brunch: Curry chicken, with potatoes and tomatoes and a bowl of rice and 1 glass of Sprite
Dinner: Exquisite meal prepared by my best friend Faiza (I'll go into detail cuz it was soo gourmet)
dinner rolls with pesto cheese spread, tomatos and red onions, herb pasta with olive oil, pine nuts and herbs of sorts, Chinese style noodles with beef, yellow bell peppers and snap snow peas, and a zucchini dish with sun dried tomatos and Mt. Dew to drink. Oh yeah there were two desserts, a horrible slop created by yours truly and some Desi stuff my mom sent along.

Last night was truly nice. We ate and then my friend Faiza and I got on the phone with our other best friend Samira. These girls have been my friends for as long as I can remember. There's actually 4 or 5 of us in the group. Rashmee, Samira, Faiza, and myself and sometimes Ronia, who doesn't know Samira all that well but is still a close friend of ours.

Anyways, the link we all share is that we are all Bengali, Muslim and we were raised in good ol Alabama.
Our parents are all friends with each other as well. We've kinda moved around a bit, but we haven't lost touch.

When I have a serious problem or vice versa, these girls are first people who I call. Last night, Faiza, Samira and I talked on the phone till about 3:30 am. Even though I woke up at around 1pm today feeling groggy, it was all worth it.

They know me so well, I haven't kept anything a secret from these girls since I've known them. It was so refreshing talking about me for a change. I spend a lot of time listening to other people's problems which indeed I really do love. It goes hand in hand to what I want to do in the future. And occasionally they want to listen to my problems ( not that I have a whole lot Thank God!) as well but they always look so blank when they here them, because I guess they can't relate to some cultural things.

But last night everything I said to these girls they just got and we just dont do any explaining. We just goof off and totally get each other. We sure did have some seriously awesome conversations last night that I will never forget!!!

So it was really nice indeed to talk to them at the same time last night. Till next time...
